We received ShamWow as a Christmas present. It absorbs water, but not as fast or as well as shown on TV. It is comparable to an absorbant cloth, IMO. One thing that the commercial doesn't mention is that, even though you can wash the cloth, you can't dry it in a clothes dryer. This is inconvenient. For the money, I would invest in absorbant cloths that can be washed and dried.

I purchased this product from a local pet store and have used it on my mini dachshund.. She sits there and tolerates it just being a little nervous at times but overall not a trying experience like so many others. I'll agree the motor is on the weak side and being battery operated didnt help. I can trim all her nails in under 10 mins. If you press too hard the motor WILL stop... However i dont think you are supposed to apply a ton of pressure to the nail anyways. Lightly grind away at it in layers and your results will be consistent every time. I've used it now about 4 times and instead of using the crappy discs they come with i've made one out of diamond coated material. Now it grinds really really fast. I have to be careful or it will "quickly" ruin her quick. In any event the product is better than some of the other infomercial products i've tried. I cant see using this on any breed larger than 35lbs though.

This product works well. We have leaky pipes and this product works better than towels or paper towels at absorbing water. When our washing machine flooded Shamwows made the cleanup so much faster.

We followed all the directions, and took a full month to aclimate our Jack Russell Terrier to this trimmer. First, we were supposed to let it run while we gave him a treat. Then we turned it on but didn't use it on him. Finally, after being very patient, we tried using it on one nail. He still freaks out. To make matters worse, it barely works. My husband held him while I tried to trim one nail. The wheel kept stopping when we applied the nail. It would have taken a half hour, and our dog would never have been able to take it. We wanted this because our dog has some nails that are dark, so it's hard to see the quick, and we're afraid to hurt him. If this actually worked, we might have kept at it, but it's junk.

I was skeptical at first, but ended up being truly amazed by this product. I was so impressed that I bought it for all my friends. Very easy to use and a good value considering the costs of pedicures these days.

At first I was a little creeped out by this product, but my mother bought it and I used it one night and I was amazed by how it worked. It didn't hurt my feet at all and my feet felt wonderful afterwards.
